The Mervyn Peake exhibition at the British Library is coming to an end. I just managed to catch it last week and was glad I did. It brings out those aspects of Peake which those who only know the Gormenghast books might miss. As well as being a writer of prose, plays and poetry (especially for children) he was an accomplished artist. If you want to see the range of his work, just type his name into a Google image search or go to the website . Apart from anything else, it shows what can be achieved without the use of any colour.
