Back in Donegal after too many years’ absence and it’s as lovely as ever. A tea-time trip to Tramore Beach overlooking the Gweebarra Estuary: there was one other person on the beach… Back in Portnoo we spent much of the time watching the weather pass by the window. I’ve been lucky to see so many beautiful views all over the world but this remains one of my favourites. Perhaps my very favourite as it has so many good memories attached. On the way back to Dublin we stayed in Trim. What a nice little town – and a wonderful B&B.
