After a rainy start, for which the locals apologised, the weather warmed up for our week or so down south. Accompanied by our trusty fellow moho-ers, we stayed at the campsite facing the much painted Mt St Victoire. Sylv and I had a go but mine was, as usual, more of a doodle. Cally’s sister lives near Aix and showed us round, as well as feeding us lovely French food on several occasions.
We visited Les Baux – an abandoned quarry, now a place for amazing light and sound shows. The ‘short’ was a ‘Flower Power’ show; we knew all the music, of course. The main feature was Picasso and Spanish artists. The picture shows a bit of the Guernica part: very powerful. Note the size of the viewers. The main photo is from a ‘Carnaval’ we happened upon where I much admired the dancers on stilts.
Tell us more, Trev…. “My Week in Provence” with illustrations by both Sylv and you, accounts of meals (a la Jamie Boswell), reflections on the character of the French, the arts in public places, and more. Could be a best seller.
