The urge to return to Borneo has been there for a while. Finally, circumstances came together to make it possible. The last piece of the jigsaw was the arrangement to meet up with an old friend from California so that I would have a travelling companion. And once in Sabah, the NE part of the island, you just have to visit the orangutans. You can catch sight of them in the wild if you’re lucky but we were happy enough to view them in the very nearly wild Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre at Sepilok near Sandakan. This one is just hanging out and enjoying teatime snacks.
