An illustration from a book of Science Fiction art. The artist was imagining a city of the 21st century. How wrong can you be? Some city skylines can be hideous but not as awful as this one which the artist, presumably, thought was wonderful. And not a bit of green in sight!
This is a consequence of having a room decorated and having to move the furniture and therefore the books. In so doing you have to ask, ‘Surely, we don’t need all of these?’ Hence three crates of books for the Oxfam bookshop.
Not that there is a shortage of books in the house. And plenty more in other bookcases. I just don’t understand how we accumulated so many. I’m tempted to count them and then divide by the number of years since we were old enough to buy books… Hmmmmmmm.
We are in a similar position but have not yet got rid of any books, or other “stuff” blocking our cupboards and drawers!
