The Gnome with the Tome was the star of Christmas. Having wanted and been denied a garden gnome for the pond, Sylv supplied and surprised me with my very own look-alike. For the moment he sits on the piano, regarding my playing with a rather stern gaze, In the summer he will go out by the pond and see what the frogs and blackbirds make of him. Otherwise festivities were a good mixture of pp and ff. Not sure about this picture taken at New Year but as it’s only likely to be viewed by people who know me well enough, I’ll let it stay.
To wind up the festive period what better than a visit to ‘A Christmas Masquerade’ at Castle Howard? Quite an experience. Bling-tastic!
… pp and ff as in pianissimo and fortissimo? Your gnome with the tome looks natural.
Exactly right. There were moments by the fireside, quiet; others of joyful clamour.
The gnome is lovely, Trevor and I’m sure he will be very happy next to your pond. Happy New YeR to you and Sylvia, love Eliz
